Five mistakes you should avoid while jogging

Buy a new pair of running shoes

The worst thing you could to your feet is to start running using your old, worn-out shoes. If you do that, you are risking blisters, and even worse, you could hurt your toes. That’s why you need to buy a new pair of shoes. They don’t have to be expensive, as you are not preparing to enter professional races. Find the ones that are lite and wide enough for your feet. There are cheap running shoes made by famous brands, and they’ll be more than good enough for you. 

Skip the warm-up

While some people love to do stretching before they run, it’s not necessary. A much better idea is to start running immediately, but going slow and then speeding up as you are getting closer to the end. Slow jogging will help you warm up, and there is a minimum risk of injury if you do that.

Pace yourself

Starting slow has another benefit because it’s better not to spend most of your energy in the beginning. Instead, try to speed up a bit by bit, and as you are getting closer to the goal, spend the rest of your energy. After a few runs, you’ll have an idea where are your current limits and how to spend all the power you have.

Slower run for losing weight, faster for getting stronger

It’s that simple. If you want to lose weight, it’s better to run for a longer distance, even if that means slowing down a lot. So, as your form is getting better, use the additional energy not to run faster, but to run longer. Even better, don’t pay attention to distance, but try to jog for an hour or so. Make realistic goals
