Maintaining Your Posture at Work

It is so important to remember to try and maintain your posture throughout the day, especially while at work at a desk. You can start doing this by being cautious in how you sit at your desk as well as using the right desk and chair.

Of course, you are going to be sitting behind a desk for several hours each day for most professions. There are many professions out there that require you to sit at a desk and work on a computer for the majority of the day. You most likely will get in a routine and may not really pay attention to how you are sitting. This can obviously take a toll on your posture and back cause aches and pains along with severe back issues later on down the road. Not only do you want to take into consideration getting the right desk and chair to use, you want to be mindful of how you are sitting at your desk.

Make it a habit to sit properly at your desk and pay attention to your posture. These small tips can help you get in the habit.

  • Keep the top of your computer screen at eyelevel and the proper arm’s length away.
  • Always keep your back straight and your shoulders back with your chin tucked in.
  • When using the phone, instead of resting it between your chin and should while working, you should use a headset. This will alleviate any pressure from your shoulders and neck.
